Mkhanyiseli Dyantyi – tenor – and Zizipho Funzo – soprano – performed the ‘Brindisi’ from Verdi’s La Traviata, in a flashmob at Truth Coffee.
Mkhanyiseli and Zizipho are both students at Opera UCT, the only opera-focussed college in Africa. Opera UCT is renowned for producing remarkable singers who go on to perform all over the world.
Truth Coffee has been twice voted as ‘The World’s Best Coffee Shop’ by the UK’s Daily Telegraph. Its remarkable steampunk interior, designed by Capetonian Haldane Martin, is matched only by the excellence of its artisan coffee roastery.
Filmed by Dylan Pereira with assistance from Ruan Roberts of Crucible Films.
